Tube cutting and bevelling machines
The quality of your welding will always depend on the quality of the weld edges preparation.
Different types of joints allow to prepare tubes in order for them to be assembled:
Butt weld preparation
- V bevel
- X bevel
- J Bevel
The welders are facing problems such as tubes which are not perfectly round and which have a more or less important ovalization.
For such cases, PROTEM cutting and bevelling machines can be equipped with copying carriages and ovalization trackers.
PROTEM tube cutting and bevelling machines are portable machines.
They are light, reliable, easy to use and they allow to get a perfect preparation with no thermally affected zones.
They are composed of two rings: one fixed and one rotating.
The tool-holders are mounted onto the rings. These PROTEM clamshells can be opened into two half-shells and they can be fixed at the required place on any type of piping.
They allow to perfom simultaneously welding preparation operations and to get a regular land, an appropriate counterboring if necessary, a bevel as required.
They can be pneumatically, hydraulically or electrically driven. They sturdy design is perfectly adapted for the machining of tubes with great wall thickness.
The PROTEM range includes several types of cutting and bevelling machines:
PROTEM TT-NG to cut and bevel tubes with great wall thickness (see the video),
PROTEM TT-LW to cut and bevel tubes up to 25,4 mm and
PROTEM TTS to cut and bevel thin tubes. Several options are available:
- Clamping jaws adaptation for small wall thickness in order to avoid tubes distortion.
- Configuration for remotely controlled operations.
- Configuration for extreme temperatures.
- Clamping on elbows, included those with no straight part.
